Houses don’t come with service histories, so make one. A simple notebook (or one note on your phone) pays off every time you sell, claim, or get a quote: the date a job was done, who did it, what it cost, and any model or part involved.
Worth recording: when the water heater was fitted (they have a lifespan, and you’ll be asked), roof and gutter work, appliance purchases and warranty expiry dates, paint colors and brands room by room, where things are — the shut-off valve locations, the alarm codes situation, which breaker does what.
Five lines per job, written the week it happens. When you sell, handing a buyer a tidy repair log quietly supports your price. When you book work, you can tell the handyman exactly what’s already been tried.
CMG Bridge keeps our side simple too — bookings by email (handyman@cmgbridge.com) leave you a paper trail of every visit. Staten Island only, Monday to Saturday.
